BACKGROUND

Europa is one man's dream of a united force for good within Europe, which will serve as a model to show the world that people of all nations can live in peace with one another. The man behind the dream is Gunther Stadz, but unfortunately for the world in general, too few of us share his goal, a fact which is more than evidenced by the conflicting personalities of those recruited into the organisation's ranks.

Europa operates on a vast budget, provided by countries within Europe who agreed to sign up to the organisation's charter. Europa was not set up to act as a police force or private army for these nations, but rather as a force which could deal with situations beyond the scope of the conventional authorities. Terrorism and natural disasters were sighted as the main 'targets' for Europa's operational activities. Unfortunately, exploitation by the governments of the various member states who wish to use the group for their own ends is a constant threat, one which the organisation's founder is determined to avoid at all costs.

Europa is based in Bern, Switzerland, a country chosen primarily due to its neutrality, as the organisation's head felt that this would show its impartiality towards all of the nations who chose to sign up to its charter. It is imperative that Europa shows impartiality in all matters, as taking a side on any particular issue would defeat the organisation's objective of bringing nations closer together.

Europa's operatives come from all over Europe. Most of them are possessed of super-human powers, although the organisation has a great deal of high-tech equipment at its disposal which can be used by the group’s members to give them an extra edge, because no matter how powerful an operative is, it does not hurt for them to have a little bit of technology on their side in a crisis. Europa also makes use of a state-of-the-art facility, where the various members of the group can train themselves to the peak of their abilities, in order to forge themselves into a more effective fighting force.

Unfortunately for the organisation, the differing cultural backgrounds of many of the members within Europa has caused a great deal of turmoil within their ranks, something which Gunthar Stadz hopes he can bring to an end, as he believes that if he can use Europa as a blueprint to prove that people of differing races can get along with one another, perhaps it will inspire whole nations to follow the group's example.
